ABT Sportsline reveals facelifted Audi AS4 and AS5 range

. Thursday, February 2, 2012

German tuning firm, ABT Sportsline has revealed their take on the newly facelifted Audi A4 and A5 range with the ABT AS4 and AS5. Sporting a fresh aero kit, the AS4 and AS5 feature an upgraded front spoiler, side skirts, fender inserts, rear skirt insert, rear spoiler and choice of 19" and 20" CR Silverlight or DR alloy wheels; a total package that ABT describes as "unobtrusively assertive." Under the hood, power ranges from 270 horsepower in the AS5 2.0 TFSI all the way to 435 hp from the S4-based AS4 3.0 TFSI. Full report after the jump.

The new ABT AS4 is sporty, assertive and chic!

Congratulations! With the launch of its very latest version, the Audi A4 turns 40! This means a full four decades of success, first for the Audi 80, then for the A4 – and ABT has been part of this success from the very beginning. “The A4 is an important car for us, too. It always
re-defines the premium standard for medium-sized cars,” says Hans-Jürgen Abt. The renowned Bavarian tuning company’s CEO is proud to be able to present the new ABT AS4 on the occasion of the series model’s fortieth anniversary: “Our AS4 is definitely state-of-the-art. It combines sportiness and assertiveness,” Hans-Jürgen Abt explains. The AS4 is a most dependable car in every situation. But it also means sheer pleasure!

In terms of better performance, ABT Sportsline always provides balanced packages that are fully geared to the respective car and the requirements of the owner. An ABT is always a dynamic vehicle, and for its whole life at that! And what the engineers came up with for the new AS4 has been mercilessly endurance-tested, of course. The figures read as follows. ABT POWER lends the top model 435 hp (320 kW), up from the original V6 petrol engine’s 333 hp (245 kW): this fast ABT only needs 4.8 seconds to go to 100 km/h from a standstill and is very torquey indeed, with a top speed of 282 km/h. And the 3.0 TDI is a real fierce car: In its ABT POWER version, the turbo diesel engine shows 282 hp or 207 kW (serial version: 245 hp/180 kW). Its torque is 560 Nm, up from 500 and certainly enough for every situation. And the “little” four-cylinder version, the 2.0 TFSI, has also undergone an ABT POWER treatment. Up from 211 hp (155 kW), the petrol engine now shows 275 hp (202 kW). Whatever engine you may want to buy, you will always get a lot of added sportiness and agility.

And of course you will always be able to tell a true ABT from a less powerful car. That was so 40 years ago and it also applies to the new AS4. ABT has developed body parts that underscore the car’s character and make it self-confident and dynamic but without seeming arrogant, as it were. The front air dam is fully in line with the striking lights of the AS4, almost pressing the car down onto the road. This sporty approach is continued by the ABT Sportsline designers in the side sills and wing inserts. Aerofoils, rear apron inserts and the two two-pipe exhaust systems round off this very, very sporty – and stylish – car’s design. And last but not least, there are the ABT alloy wheels: Be it CR Silverlight or DR – they are all perfect for the new ABT AS4. Needless to say, they are also available in combination with high-speed tyres. After all, the AS4’s success story is to be continued – on blacktop!

Sporty elegance – the new ABT AS5

The A5 is a fast coupe and a comfortable travel companion to begin with. But in its
ABT Sportsline version this extravagant car is even more sporty. The latest edition of the ABT AS5 combines a precise and harmonious design with dynamic technology. “For us, it was important to combine this car’s extraordinary design with our ideas and thus to underscore the car’s character. Its increased performance and its body parts form a unit”, says Hans-Jürgen Abt. The traditional Bavarian company’s managing director is very excited about this automobile. “If you look at the AS5, you want to take in every inch of its marvellous silhouette, and if you sit in it, all you want is to get it on the road. This coupé is really a power pack.“

This sports car in its “tailor-made suit” is so much fun to drive because it has undergone a real ABT Sportsline treatment. The car is always assertive and second to none: ABT POWER turns the 3.0l diesel engine from its original 245 hp (180 kW) to a torquey 300 hp (221 kW). For the 2.0 TFSI, it is a dynamic 270 hp or 199 kW (original version: 211 hp/155 kW). Other engine variants are being developed and will be presented at a later stage.

To be sure, this additional ABT POWER also has to be put on the road. So a lowered suspension has been geared to the AS5, which make for a very effective lowering of the car’s centre of gravity – in visual terms, too. This is part of the overall design concept. Front spoiler, side skirts, fender inserts, rear skirt insert, rear spoiler and the typical four-pipe exhaust system make the chic ABT appear unobtrusively assertive from wherever you look at it. As an ideal complementary feature, ABT recommends the CR Silverlight or DR alloy wheels. Depending upon your taste, they will underscore either the new ABT AS5’s sportiness or its elegance. And in visual terms they are fully in line with the sport braking system, which is available with discs of 345 or 380mm in diameter.

The new ABT AS5 has been developed by the globally largest tuner of cars produced by the Volkswagen Group, with its designers and engineers making no compromises. After all, what driver of this unique coupe would want to make compromises? “They want a maximum of automotive sophistication, dynamism, roadworthiness, design and assertiveness”, Hans-Jürgen Abt says. So the new AS5 is a benchmark five times over!

ABT Sportsline builds Audi R8 GTR police car for "Tune it! Safe!" campaign

. Friday, November 25, 2011

As part of the German initiative for "safe and serious tuning" known as Tune it! Safe!, renowned VW/Audi tuning firm ABT Sportsline has created a very special police car (or rather, Polizei fahrzeug). Based on the 640 horsepower ABT Audi R8 GTR, this year's campaign car turned more than a few heads at its official debut today at the Essen Motor Show. More info after the jump.

Underneath the Polizei-spec paint scheme, is a standard ABT R8 GTR (as if anything about the that is "standard"). Which includes a whole host of upgrades such as; 640hp engine tune, 19" ABT CR wheels, carbon ceramic brakes, sport exhaust, sport suspension, carbon fiber aero kit, roll bar and more. From there, ABT added Foliatec's "official police foil decor" and Hella RTK-7 police roof lights - all making for one police car we wouldn't mind being pulled over by.

For more information on both this car and the Tune it! Safe! campaign, check out tune-it-safe.de

ABT Sportsline reveals Audi RS3 tuning program

. Thursday, September 1, 2011

ABT Sportsline has really been a tear lately. Just last month, the German tuning firm released two new models; the ABT Q3 and ABT AS6 Avant. ABT's latest tuner is this, the ABT RS3. Utilizing their signature "POWER S" software, ABT is able to release and added 130 horses from the RS3's 2.5 TFSI 5-cylinder for a total of 470 horsepower. More after the jump.

Under the hood, ABT offers the choice of two levels of tune for the RS3. The 420-hp "POWER" and 470-hp "POWER S" programs. As you'd imagine, we're going to focus on the more potent of the two. In addition to its 470 horsepower, ABT's POWER S program is able to expel an extra 133 lb/ft of torque from the RS3's five-pot to a very impressive 464 lb/ft. Coupled with ABT's own performance exhaust system, the ABT RS3 is able to launch from 0-62 mph in just four seconds and on to a de-limited top speed of 177 mph.

As you can see from the photos, ABT chose to leave much of Audi's original bodywork intact. The only aesthetic modifications currently offered is a choice of the firm's "DR," "CR" or "BR" design wheels in 19-inch size only. "19 inches are perfect for this car," explained ABT's CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt, who personally prefers the gun-metal "DR" design as pictured.

For more information, check out the official press release below or feel free to visit ABT Sportsline's official website.

Press Release:

High-speed magic – the new ABT RS3

Well, it can hardly be called “cute”, can it?! The RS3 is chunky and chic and damned fast, too. “A car to which there is even more than meets the eye, and that is quite a feat,” says Hans-Jürgen Abt, CEO of the globally largest tuner of cars produced by the Volkswagen Group. Highlighting what is special about this new car, he continues “If you are into understatement you get a car that is simply elegant. It is easy to handle in narrow streets and you can also burn rubber.“ Even more so when the ABT Sportsline engineers have also tuned up its performance: 100km/h in four seconds? No problem whatsoever. And certainlyenough to keep one’s pole position, don’t you think? And it only stops at 285 km/h. In contrast to its series-production counterpart, the ABT RS3 has no cut-off. Or, as Hans-Jürgen Abt explains: “It was our engineers’ top priority that this car shows a top performance at high speeds, too. If you look at the performance chart, you can see that it is very powerful even near the limit.“ After all, for ABT the RS3 stands for high-speed magic.

The ABT RS3 has power – lots of power. But it uses its power discretely if you are driving through town or leisurely elsewhere. If, however, you want to go at full throttle, in its most powerful version it will turn into a racing car. With its POWER S technology, that is, the ABT turbocharger and a modified motor management, the five-cylinder engine, 2.5l cc, produces no less than 470 hp (346 kW), that’s more kW than the series-production’s horsepower (340 hp/250 kW). 630 Nm (torque; series-production: 450) mean a massive thrust and superiority all over. The RS3 has the same fuel consumption and CO2 emission rate as the basic version. Again, the ABT engineers’ work was perfect. But you don’t need the most powerful version to get fun. ABT POWER does also give you a lot. The 2.5 TFSI strong 420 hp (309 kW) engine’s performance is certainly enough to outrace all others and let them catch a glimpse of the 2-pipe stainless steel ABT exhaust system.

The RS3 simply needs the ABT light alloy wheels. “19 inches are perfect for this car,“ says Hans-Jürgen Abt. He likes the DR with its expressive Gun-Metal look best, but, of course, BR and CR also fit this car perfectly. And all light alloy wheels are also available in complete sets. Finally: high-performance tyres are extremely important for such a fast car. 255/30 R19 on the front axle, 225/35 R19 on the rear one. The ABT RS3 on DR wheels has a real presence then – on the road, too! It’s simply high-speed magic.

ABT Sportsline reveals 420-hp Audi AS6 Avant

. Tuesday, August 23, 2011

The German tuning house of ABT Sportsline has revealed their latest creation today: the ABT AS6 Avant. Based on the C7-bodied Audi A6 Avant, ABT's AS6 Avant receives many similar upgrades as previously revealed on the ABT A6 Sedan. Notably unlike the sedan however, the ABT AS6 Avant boasts up to 420 horsepower from the A6's supercharged, 3.0 TFSI V6 (versus 410 from the sedan). More after the jump.

Under the hood, the ABT AS6 Avant offers the choice of three different power upgrades. The standard 204-hp variant of the A6's 3.0 TDI gets a bump to 240-hp; with the more powerful 245-hp diesel receiving 55 more ponies for a total of 300 horsepower. And for the 3.0 TFSI, ABT's "POWER" ECU programming adds a whopping 120 extra horses for a total of 420. All told, the 3.0 TFSI-powered ABT AS6 Avant is good for run from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in just five seconds flat.

Outside, the ABT AS6 Avant receives the standard ABT Sportline treatment. The car's front and rear spoilers, side skirts and rear skirt are all upgraded. However, as ABT points out, "the crowning feature is the rear spoiler and the rear apron set with four exhaust pipes." Rounding out the package is the choice of ABT's "DR" design wheels in 18, 19 or 20-inch sizes. Full press release can be found after the photos below.

Press Release:

The “Estate of the Art” in sport – the new ABT AS6 Avant

Amazing what it can do: the ABT AS6 Avant is a fast luxury liner which likes going on long journeys. Both sporty and dynamic, it offers driving pleasure – its excellent comfort ensures that this pleasure remains even on long trips. And in the rear it impresses with large luggage space as well as the typical ABT view of four exhaust pipes. "This estate stands for lifestyle and power. Which is also going to be honoured by the driver behind you", Hans-Jürgen Abt clarifies. The CEO of the now 115 years old company adds: “The vehicle shows all of our experience in tuning.”

The AS6 Avant is certainly self-confident, no question. But it also acts elegant and classy, and looks just as good outside the opera as well as at the car park of the Nürburgring. The fact that its home is originally on the race track is clear from the three swift letters: A-B-T. The performance data speaks the same language: the most powerful turbo diesel with three litre cubic capacity provides 300 HP/221 kW thanks to ABT POWER (series-standard: 245 HP/180 kW). The weaker version of the 3.0 TDI now provides 240 HP or 177 kW (series-standard: 204 HP/150 kW). The AS6 Avant provides the maximum sports combination with the performance-improved V6 gasoline engine: the Kempten engineers have conjured up a huge 420 HP (309 kW) from the basic version’s sporty 300 HP. The versatile premium class fun estate, is also capable of a strong sprint: the ABT AS6 Avant sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in exactly five seconds.

Optically the estate looks decent and extravagant, and appears confident and powerful from all sides: the sidebars and front spoiler harmonise with the elongated contours of the vehicle. The crowning feature is the rear spoiler and the rear apron set with four exhaust pipes. The design of the ABT AS6 Avant also includes light-metal designer wheels, which are available in 19, 20 and powerful 21 inch sizes. It goes without saying that ABT also offers alloys in combination with high-speed tyres which suit the car’s performance potential.

Whatever engine the customer chooses – he/she always gets a balanced vehicle which meets the highest demands: everyday reliability and suitability for long journeys in combination with maximum sportiness characterise the new ABT AS6 Avant. After all you don’t want to go without comfort and luxury just because you are in a particular hurry.

ABT Sportsline reveals new Audi Q3 tuning program

. Saturday, August 13, 2011

Needless to say, it hasn't taken German tuning house, ABT Sportline long to add their flare to Audi's all-new Q3. As Hans-Jürgen Abt explains, “In its class the Q3 is something special. For our designers it provides the perfect working basis, as it is both classy and dynamic.” Living up to that classy and dynamic approach, the new ABT Q3 boasts up to 250 horsepower from the the 2.0 TFSI; matched to ABT's signature styling cues of upgraded wheels and aero kit. Full run-down after the jump.

Under the hood, ABT Sportsline offers a full range of power upgrades for the Audi Q3. Utilizing ABT's "POWER" performance ECU tuning programing, the most potent 2.0 TFSI application gets a bump from 211 to 250-hp and an additional 18 horses for the 2.0 TDI. The added power is then mated to an upgraded suspension system, revised aero kit and choice of ABT's "CR" or "DR" design wheels in sizes ranging from 18 to 20 inches. Full press release and specification below.

Press Release:

Kempten commitment to maximum urban sportiness – the new ABT Q3

“The Q3 is an extremely athletic yet very elegant vehicle. It combines the powerful aesthetics of a robust car with the shape of a cool coupe”, explains Hans-Jürgen Abt. For the CEO of ABT Sportsline, the world’s largest tuner of vehicles from the VW Group, the latest offspring of the SUV family represents an absolute highlight in the product range: “In its class the Q3 is something special. For our designers it provides the perfect working basis, as it is both classy and dynamic”, states Hans-Jürgen Abt. For example the Abts were able to further accentuate the unique tornado curves of the Q3 with side sills. In connection with the striking ABT front grill and the front spoiler the inherently compact car seems more powerful and to have more presence. The rear wing, rear apron and exhaust pipe covers ensure that from the rear of the SUV you can see that the car has a good figure.

After all the ABT Q3 does not just look sporty – it is sporty too: the engineers from Bavaria are currently working on the final tests of the individual ABT POWER performance packages. But it is already certain that the new car will provide an additional boost of maximum sportiness and extra driving enjoyment in practically all situations. As a result the most powerful version of the 2.0 TSI is expected to offer 250 HP or 184 kW (series standard: 211 HP/155 kW). The 170 HP version (125 kW) has been converted by ABT Sportsline into a sports engine with 210 HP (154 kW). For SUVs, a diesel engine is of course always a good, economical solution. As a result ABT POWER is also available for both performance levels of the economic 2.0 TDI: the series standard 140 HP (103 kW) is increased to 170 HP (125 kW), while the version with 177 HP (130 kW) as standard offers a high-torque 195 HP (143 kW) after the power treatment by ABT. The turbo diesel with two litre cubic capacity is the first choice if you want a little more, for example if the athletic ABT Q3 is also to be used as a workhorse.

Regardless of which engine is chosen, the customer always receives a vehicle which combines maximum driving fun with everyday usability and reliability. The fact that handling and optics do not have to suffer due to the car’s diversity is proved emphatically by the SUV of ABT. And the new Q3 in particular is a really attractive car, its design elements harmonise with the performance improvements – both have been developed as it were from the high demands of ABT customers. Consequently the extravagant light metal alloys from the CR and DR ranges suit the ABT Q3’s powerful-robust coupe shape perfectly. It goes without saying that the alloys are also available in combination with strong load-bearing highperformance tyres – in accordance with the commitment to maximum urban sportiness.

The new ABT Q3 – data and facts:

ABT Sportsline bumps Audi A1 to 210 horsepower

. Friday, June 17, 2011

German tuning house, ABT Sportsline has introduced a new addition to their ABT A1 fleet today. Based on the 185-hp version of the Audi A1 1.4 TFSI, ABT adds 25 horses and improved handling to Audi's "next big thing." All told, ABT's new 210 horsepower A1 is good for a run from 0-62 mph in just 6.6 seconds and on to a 149 mph top speed. More after the jump.

Horsepower gains are thanks to an in-house ECU-tune and an upgraded, dual pipe exhaust with sports muffler. Of course, added power is just one ingredient of a proper tuner project. Handling is then improved via ABT springs, making for what the company refers to as a "cornering beast." As ABT's president, Hans-Jürgen Abt explains: "It doesn’t just need to have good throttle response, but the handling has to be right too. You should always look forward to your next trip with the A1."

Like the other, less potent versions of the ABT A1 first introduced last year, the new 210-hp version is available in three different color schemes that the company describes as follows. The Aloha: the "cool beach boy", Klecks: the casual splash of color for the urban lifestyle and High Voltage: the "bad boy" which is always fully charged. Each color scheme is then matched to a corresponding body kit and choice of ABT's 18" DR or 17/18" Z Titan design wheels.

Press Release:

A1 for first class performance – maximum ABT POWER for the compact Audi

Compact, convenient and a “complete ABT” – that’s the A1. All the more so in its most sporty form: with the latest engine (1.4 TFSI) the small car offers 210 HP or 154 kW. This makes the ABT A1 a genuine sports car, which cannot and does not want to deny its closeness to motorsport, as Hans-Jürgen Abt stresses: “Even the series standard version of the car is a lot of fun in particular on winding roads – and it is precisely for this reason that we have focused on providing extra power. The performance improvement increases the car’s agility and fits its driving characteristics perfectly.” The General Manager of the world’s largest tuner of vehicles from the Volkswagen Group knows what makes a sporty car: “It doesn’t just need to have good throttle response, but the handling has to be right too. You should always look forward to your next trip with the A1", clarifies Hans-Jürgen Abt.

The ABT A1 is not just a “cornering beast”, but is also at home on long motorway journeys. With a top speed of nearly 240 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h of 6.6 seconds, the compact sports car is quick enough for every situation. Its internal “premium values” already make it a suitable travel vehicle, but now it also has real ABT POWER.

All ABT A1s are of course bold, fresh and agile – even the cool “ABT POWER Dwarf”, as Hans-Jürgen Abt lovingly calls the latest, most powerful version. And it goes without saying that the popular design versions are available for this A1: ALOHA, the "cool beach boy", KLECKS, the casual splash of colour for the urban lifestyle and HIGH VOLTAGE, the "bad boy" which is always fully charged. Hans-Jürgen Abt recommends the new ABT DR alloy in 18 inch or the Z Titan wheel, which is available in 17 or 18 inch, for this car. Both are of course also available in combination with fitting sports tyres. The ABT Double-pipe sports rear muffler rounds everything off visually and acoustically, while the ABT Springs also help to exploit the potential of the powerful A1. Welcome on board of the ABT A1 for your next trip!

ABT Sportsline introduces the ABT R8 GT S

. Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Making an official world debut at this week's 2011 Geneva Motor Show, ABT Sportsline has today introduced the ABT R8 GT S. Based on the Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI, the ABT R8 GT S boasts 620 horsepower, aggressive carbon fiber styling, lowered suspension, upgraded wheels and a top speed of 199 mph. All making for what ABT modestly describes as their "hot open-top sports car."

To boost the R8's 5.2 FSI V10 engine from 525 to 610 horsepower, ABT makes use of their patented POWER tuning program. An upgraded ECU and ABT sports exhaust system are enough for not only a 20% jump in power but also a 3.6 second run to 100 km/h (62.5 mph) on to a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph). As ABT explains, "the 5.2 litre V10 engine is fully compatible for everyday use and is real fun for cruising on country roads." In the handling department is an ABT lowered suspension system mated to a choice of 20-inch ABT "BR" or 19-inch "CR Superlight" wheels.

Outside, carbon fiber can be seen almost everywhere on the ABT R8 GT S. The hood, rear spoiler, front skirt, rear skirt, windscreen frame cover, red air scoops, engine cover and mirror covers all receive the carbon treatment. Not only does the carbon fiber add an aesethetic enhancement, it also helps the heavier Spyder reduce and optimally distribute weight. Inside, red carbon fiber can be found on the steering wheel, center console, shift gate and door panels; matched then with red and black leather seats and trim.

As mentioned above, The new ABT R8 GT S will debut at this week's 2011 Geneva Motor Show. If you plan to attend, be sure to stop by the ABT booth in Hall 5, Stand 5031.

Press Release:

ABT R8 GT S – The hot open-top sports car

Red is the colour of love – and the Spyder ABT R8 GT S is on display in an elegant, self-confident red chrome tone at the Motorshow Geneva. A contrast is provided by the middle section of the car with carbon dominating from the bonnet to the rear wing. When designing the car, the Motorsport Department of ABT Sportsline paid attention to weight reductions and the perfect distribution of weight. With its dynamic carbon inlays at the side and on the covers of engine and convertible-top the cabrio signalises that it is one of the fastest around. The front skirt, rear skirt, windscreen frame cover, red air scoops, engine bonnet or even the mirrors are not just design, they are made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CRP) and are correspondingly light. The sports car is the perfect weight to achieve highest performance.

The dream car from Bavaria now brings 620 HP (456 kW) onto the road thanks to
ABT POWER. This is compared to 525 HP (386 kW) on standard models. A performance improvement of almost 20% is a statement in the super sports car class: the ABT R8 GT S sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 320 km/h. The cabrio with the 5.2 litre V10 engine is fully compatible for everyday use and is real fun for cruising on country roads. After all the “hot open-top sports car” is open to anything. And thanks to the ABT Suspension the setup is optimal at all times. The Sports exhaust system provides good acoustics and is an important part of the design concept, it harmonises with the diffuser, rear wing and trapeze-shaped rear skirt. The car is not just extremely quick, but also looks like it is. It makes hearts skip a beat, especially when the light metal alloy ABT BR in 20 or the CR Superlight in 19 inch announce the car’s inherent power even when stationary.

With the ABT R8 GT S the love of detail continues in the interior: ABT Sportsline has “dressed” the sports steering wheel, the centre console, the shifting gate and parts of the door panels in red carbon. As a contrast the remaining parts of the doors and the dashboard were covered with new leather. The texture of the material is expressive and elegant. The red and black leather of the seats perfectly harmonises with this styling. Red safety belts and illuminated door sill panels round off the powerful appearance of the ABT R8 GT S.

ABT Sportsline reveals new Audi A6 tuning programs

.

Following the same basic recipe as the ABT A7 revealed early last month, ABT Sportsline has now introduced a line of tuning programs for the all-new Audi A6. Making use of the company's POWER and POWER S tuning kits, ABT offers power upgrades for both the A6's 3.0 TDI and TFSI powerplants ranging from 282 to 410 horsepower. In addition to the upgraded styling and performance, the ABT A6 features all-new, "DR" design wheels.

As both the Audi A6 and A7 share the same 3.0-liter diesel and gasoline powerplants, engine tuning on the ABT A6 is identical to that of the ABT A7. In POWER form, the 3.0 TDI's horsepower gets a bump from 245 to 282 horsepower. With the addition of an upgraded turbocharger, ABT's POWER S program boosts the A6's 3.0 TDI to 310 horsepower with 450 lb/ft of torque and 410 horses from the 3.0 TFSI.

Outside, the ABT A6 sports an upgraded rear skirt with four-outlet exhaust, rear spoiler, front skirts and front spoiler; all working to accentuate Audi's latest generation design. "For us the A6 is an extravagant, straight-forward car, which doesn’t show off yet also doesn’t hide away," states ABT's General Manager, Hans-Jürgen Abt. "It is just the prefect choice for our demanding customers."

Rounding out the package are a set of newly designed wheels from ABT Sportsline. Known as the "DR" design, the new wheels feature a very unique, 3D rotational design and gun-metal finish. Available in sizes ranging from 19 to 21 inches, the "DR" wheel is in our opinion, the nicest design we've seen from the Bavarian tuner.

The new ABT A6 will make its official world debut at this week's 2011 Geneva Motor Show. If you plan to attend, be sure to stop by the ABT booth in Hall 5, Stand 5031.

Press Release:

Built to be outstandingly quick – The new ABT A6

6 is a powerful number: If you throw a six in Ludo, you reach the goal quicker, and the same also applies if you drive an ABT A6. Power and comfort make the premium car a perfect everyday companion. Long journeys can be managed with ease, but the fun already begins on short trips. Regardless of whether you choose a petrol or diesel engine, the A6 becomes a veritable sports car with a performance improvement from ABT Sportsline. In the developments for the new model from the successful A6 range, the world’s largest tuner of vehicles from the VW group also ensures that the character of noble superiority is not just retained, but is accentuated even further. Thanks to ABT POWER, the 3.0 TDI offers a
high-torque and cultivated 282 HP (207 kW) instead of the series standard 245 HP (180 kW). An ABT Turbocharger is additionally used in the ABT POWER S package, giving the diesel 310 HP (228 kW). 610 Nm torque ensure that the A6 can "cope playfully" with any situation. The professionals are currently working full out to develop a performance improvement for the 3.0 TFSI: The petrol engine will then bring a powerful 410 HP or 302 kW onto the road (series standard: 300 HP / 221 kW).

Visually it is also clear exactly where the new ABT A6 comes from: From the back it confidently shows its rear skirt with the typical four tailpipe look of ABT Sportsline. The rear spoiler adds to the elegant appearance of the car and gives it an even sportier look. The side skirts and front spoiler underline the other “sweet sides” of the successful Ingolstadt design. "For us the A6 is an extravagant, straight-forward car, which doesn’t show off yet also doesn’t hide away," states Hans-Jürgen Abt. For the General Manager of the traditional company which recently celebrated its 115 year anniversary, the A6, which has been further developed specifically to reduce its weight, is a great success: “It is just the prefect choice for our demanding customers.”

The appearance of the new A6 can be rounded off perfectly with the alloy creations from ABT Sportsline: The designer light alloy wheels are available in 19 to 21 inch and, of course, in combination with fitting high-speed tyres. Which wheel you choose in the end is
of course a matter of taste, but all the models suit the classy-dynamic appearance of the ABT A6 harmonically. One thing remains unchanged: Throwing a 6 may make you happy in the short-term, but the ABT A6 gives you lasting enjoyment.

ABT Sportsline reveals Audi A7 tuning programs

. Thursday, February 10, 2011

As their first new model for 2011, ABT Sportsline has today revealed the ABT A7. Offering three levels of tune for both the Audi A7's 3.0 TDI and TFSI engines, the ABT A7 boasts up to 310hp in 3.0 TDI form and 410 gasoline-driven horses from the TFSI. Of course, like all of ABT's creations, what's under the hood is only one piece of the package. A lowered suspension, enhanced aerodynamics and 19" or 21" wheels - coupled with an engine tune of your choice - all make what ABT describes as "elegance in its most impressive form."

Making use of what ABT calls their POWER and POWER S tuning programs, both the 3.0 TDI and TFSI powerplants are brought up to the discerning personal standards of ABT Sportsline's General Manager, Christian Abt. As Abt explains; "For us the A7 is a car whose optical qualities also must be reflected in its driving performance." Adding to the driving performance Mr. Abt speaks of, is an increase in the 3.0 TDI's output from a stock 245hp to a POWER-tuned 282hp and POWER S-tuned 310 horses with 450 ft/lbs of torque. "We think that the diesel engine suits the A7 perfectly, as it combines torque and unbridled power with the highest possible economy," says Abt. On the gasoline side, the 3.0 TFSI gets a boost from 310hp to a grin-inducing 410 horses from ABT's POWER tuning package.

Outside, the ABT A7 receives the same fit and finish those familiar with this Bavarian tuner have come to expect. ABT side skirts, front spoiler and rear skirt set (with the distinctive 4-pipe exhaust unit) round out the aerodynamic enhancements. The A7's air suspension is lowered by use of ABT's "Level Control" system which should give some added stick to twisties. Rounding out the package are a choice of 19" or 21" ABT designer wheels and high-performance tires.

Look for the ABT A7 to officially debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, March 3rd through the 13th.

Press Release:

Elegance in its most impressive form – the new ABT A7

Kempten, Germany Feb. 9 2011 - Your first glance at the elongated outline of the A7 is a magical moment which you will want to repeat again and again. Like an elegant feline predator, the vehicle shows that it is ready to pounce at any time and is very dynamic. The ABT side skirts support this impression further. They make the extravagant Audi seem even more muscular, it is a sports car in a perfect tailor-made suit. The front spoiler and the rear skirt set with the distinctive 4-pipe exhaust unit underline the fact that ABT has placed special emphasis on "sport" with the new A7 Sportback.

"For us the A7 is a car whose optical qualities also must be reflected in its driving performance", explains Christian Abt. The General Manager of the traditional Bavarian company, who is responsible for technical developments, stresses that the A7 has to meet and the high demands of its owner, both as a premium road vehicle and as a sporting machine. This applies to both the 3.0 TFSI and the 3.0 TDI. "We think that the diesel engine suits the A7 perfectly, as it combines torque and unbridled power with the highest possible economy", says Christian Abt. With ABT POWER the series standard 245 HP (180 kW) is increased to a powerful 282 HP (207 kW). The torque also rises from 450 Nm to an impressive 500 Nm. The big turbo diesel runs even more powerfully with ABT POWER S: this is because the "in-house" turbo charger from ABT SPORTSLINE is applied and the Sportback therefore brings 310 HP (228 kW) onto the road. With its powerful torque of 610 Nm the machine is both superior and offers high-torque and quick acceleration in every situation. The ABT A7 becomes a real sports car with a petrol engine: thanks to ABT POWER the six cylinders now offer 410 HP (302 kW), compared to the series-standard 300 HP (221 kW).

ABT offers designer light alloy wheels in the sizes 19 to 21 inch to suit the extravagant Coupé limousine with the practical tailgate. The alloys are, of course, also available in combination with high-performance tyres, so that nothing else stands in the way of driving enjoyment. In combination with the lowering of the air suspension thanks to ABT Level Control, the ABT A7 now sticks to the road even more. Impressive performance, elegance and extravagance now have a new name – ABT A7.
