Audi S5 Cabriolet tuned by HS Motorsport

. Wednesday, September 8, 2010

As summer draws to a close, many of us will be digging out our sweaters and squeezing in a few last warm weekend drives. Despite the change in season, German tuner HS Motorsport has introduced a new tuning program for the Audi S5 Cabriolet. Taking a fairly understated approach, HS Motorsport's drop-top S5 receives an added 42 horses and a delimited top speed of 180 mph.

Under the hood, HS Motorsport's ECU tuning program increases the S5 Cabriolet's 3.0T to 375hp and 387 lb/ft of torque and in the process removes Audi's stock speed limiter, allowing for a top speed of 180 mph. In addition to the software upgrades; a Cargraphic exhaust, Bilstein B16 PSS10 thread suspension and 6-piston Brembo brakes round out the package.

Exterior modifications have been kept to a minimum, as HS Motorsport explains "strictly speaking, the external look of the cabriolet from Ingolstadt doesn’t need any upgrades." Leaving cosmetic refinements to a set of 21" Cargraphic wheels and various carbon fiber accents.
