Return of the Ur-Quattro: New Audi S5 "Project Anniversario" rendering emerges

Rumors have been swirling for some time now that Audi is resurrecting the ur-quattro in the form of an Audi S5-based "Project Anniversario." That said, this is not the first rendering of the new ur-quattro we've seen, however in our opinion, this is the best yet.

Unlike the previous rendering of "Project Anniversario" that we saw last year, this design brings with it some very recognizable styling cues of the ur-quattro of yore. Specifically, the hatchback design, more familiar "hood scoop" and exaggerated fender flares reminiscent of the Group B rally quattros.

Considering the ur-quattro made it's debut in 1980, reaching showrooms in the fall of that year, we would not be surprised to see "Project Anniversario" officially debut this year, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Audi quattro. Though many are saying this car will never see the light of day, we can still hope.
