Audi S8 tops NHTSA car theft list

It appears car thieves have better taste than one might've thought. As reported by The Detroit News, the Audi S8 has topped NHTSA's (the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) recent list of the most stolen new cars of 2009. While not the most stolen car by volume (that honor goes to the Toyota Camry), the S8 recorded the highest rate of theft with 8.81 thefts per 1,000 vehicles produced. Those of you planning to purchase the new D4 S8 next year should probably think about pre-ordering a LoJack system right about now.
