MRC Tuning reveals 820 hp Audi RS6 MRC800

. Tuesday, February 1, 2011

For nearly 20 years, Audi has proved that just two letters can speak volumes. Shattering the dated perception of the "station wagon," RS-badged Avants forever made getting groceries a thrilling experience. But of all of Audi's family-sized terror wagons, the C6 RS6 Avant is by far the most powerful ever to wear four rings. For some though, a stock 571 horsepower just isn't enough. Enter, MRC Tuning. Stretching the boundaries of the RS6's 5.0-liter biturbo V10 to 820 horsepower and 720 ft/lbs of torque, the Audi RS6 MRC800 is quite simply, breathtaking.

To launch the RS6 into the stratospheric 800+ horsepower club, the boffins at UK-based MRC Tuning applied a laundry list of go-fast mods to make up their MRC800 kit. Hybrid turbos, 3" downpipes with 100 cell race-cats, upgraded intakes, filter kit, fueling kit and a MRC Tuning Stage 3 remap round out the power department. From there, MRC adds a custom gearbox remap which raises revs to 7000 RPM in all gears and limits power in 1st and 2nd to improve traction. The result is a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.6 seconds on to an electronically limited top speed of 217 mph.

So what does this 820 horsepower Audi RS6 sound like? Check out the dyno video below:

All told, here's how the MRC800 RS6 conversion kit stacks up:

Horsepower: 831PS (~820 hp)
Torque: 977Nm (~720 ft/lbs)
0-60 mph: 3.6 seconds (with limited power in 1st and 2nd gears to aid traction)
100 km/h - 200 km/h (62.5 mph - 125 mph): 6.3 seconds
0 - 200 km/h (125 mph): 10.4 seconds
Top Speed (electronically limited): 350 km/h (217 mph)

*It should also be noted that MRC Tuning told us that the acceleration times were recorded in the current cold, winter environment (limiting traction) and will most likely improve in warmer weather.
