Report: Audi may bring quattro concept to production

. Thursday, October 7, 2010

According to a recent report by Autocar, Audi's show-stopping quattro concept may become a limited production reality. Although somewhat cryptic, Autocar spoke to Stephan Reil, head of development at quattro GmbH about the possibility of the quattro entering production. “We are rethinking standard processes to make it possible,” Reil explained. "We know how to engineer it already."

Hesitation appears to surround whether it is feasible to change Audi's "standard processes" to accommodate such a limited production run. Reil told to the UK magazine, "we need feedback to see if it is possible. Audi has no heritage in building 200-500 cars that are really exotic. But it won’t be over €100,000."
