Chrysler Uses S6 and S8 Monikers for New 300 Series - How? Why?

It was reported today that the latest 2010 Chrysler 300 special editions will debut at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show carrying S6 and S8 designations. This revelation led me to pose the following question on Twitter; "how is Chrysler getting away with using S6 and S8 monikers for the new 300 series?"

So, in an effort to find out how such a prestigious Audi model designation could land on a Chrysler 300, we're posing the same question to you the readers of quattroholic.com. I truly hope we can get representatives of Chrysler and/or Audi to comment on this article. As far as we're concerned, Chrysler has some 'splaining to do.
