Is the 2010 Audi S4 Underrated?

. Monday, November 2, 2009

It looks like Audi may be sandbagging their horsepower and torque data for the new 2010 Audi S4. The folks at APR put the new S4 on their AWD dyno and came up with some pretty surprising numbers.

After running the 2010 S4 on the dyno, APR found that instead of Audi's 333 horsepower and 325 lb/ft torque claims at the crank, the new S4 actually produced 330.67 horsepower and 336.09 lb/ft of torque, at the wheels!

As Autoblog notes: "Figuring that AWD cars have about a 20% parasitic drivetrain power loss, the actual crank output of the S4 is huge. How huge? By our calculations just about 400 horsepower/torques."
