Video: Leopard Hangs Out of Audi TT Window

. Saturday, October 31, 2009

There's not much to say here, aside from this video being shot in what seems to be Russia (where else would you see something like this).

Seriously though, what's cooler than driving your Audi TT with your pet Leopard hanging out of the window?

Building APR's Koni Challenge Audi S4

. Friday, October 30, 2009

In my opinion, there are few things cooler than watching a race car being built, specifically when that race car carries the four-rings emblem. Here are a few shots that APR's Keith Lucas posted to Fourtitude showing their Audi S4 Koni Challenge race car being built.

Video: Inside Line Pits Audi S4 vs. BMW 335i

. Saturday, October 17, 2009

Edmund's Inside Line took the opportunity to run the Audi S4 vs. the BMW 335i in a comparison challenge. Considering the S4 is a performance version of the A4, it probably would have been a better test if they compared the S4 and M3. However, a comparatively priced M3 would probably cost about $10k more than the S4. As far as we're concerned, in the Audi vs. BMW match up, it's Audi for the win every time (shocker, I know).

Audi A1 - More Details Emerge

. Wednesday, October 14, 2009

As the A1 will be the latest addition to the Audi model range, various rumors and speculation have been swirling as to what to expect from Audi's new Mini fighter. So far, nothing is set in stone, but the folks at Car Magazine have some fairly official details, straight from the horses mouth.

According to Car, they've spoken to Audi brass, and here's what they've learned to expect from the A1 lineup. First off, expect the A1 to set squarely against BMW's Mini brand and to be priced accordingly ( £11,000, no word on US pricing). However, unlike the Mini, there should be at least four incarnations of the A1.

Expect "a three-door A1 hatchback (based on the 2007 Metroproject concept shown below in red), a five-door A1 Sportback (the eponymous 2008 concept), an A1 Convertible and an A1-based SUV to battle Mini’s forthcoming Crossover."

Report: Audi to Cancel RS4 Sedan, S4 and A4 Cabriolets

. Sunday, October 11, 2009

There's been much speculation regarding the fates of some of Audi's most beloved performance models. Considering there is no "official" release from Audi, we've put together what we feel is the most accurate consolidation of the current rumors regarding the future of the Audi RS4, A4 Cabriolet and S4 Cabriolet.

News first broke from 4WheelsNews, where according the their "source from Ingolstadt," "Audi killed the plans for a RS4 successor due to poor sales." In addition to the RS4, 4WheelsNews also reported that the A4 and S4 Cabriolets will also hit the chopping block. Noting their speculation that Audi was cancelling these models because the company "wants to focus on hybrids and environmentally friendly vehicles."

Following that, Quattroworld posted a carbon copy of the 4WheelsNews article and commented that they were not at all surprised by this action by Audi, but do expect to see the RS4 resurrected at a later date.

So this led us to wonder if these rumors and speculation were in fact true. Seriously, anyone can say they have a "source from Ingolstadt." For all we know it could be a friend who happens to live in the German town. So we thank George at Fourtitude for sorting things out. As far as we're concerned, Fourtitude may be the most reliable Audi source next to the manufacturer themselves.

Bottom line, according to Fourtitude, the RS4 Sedan will be cancelled due lack of demand. However, the RS4 will live on in Avant form, most likely in Europe only (just like the B5 RS4). As for the A4, S4 and RS4 Cabriolets, they will indeed be canceled and replaced by the A5, S5 and RS5 variants.

We hope that clears up some of the confusion. Remember, even though we trust the reports of Fourtitude, until Audi officially comments, it's all part of the rumor mill.
