Audi S5 Sportback Revealed - Full Photo Gallery and Specs

. Friday, August 28, 2009

When the Audi A5 Sportback was first revealed, we all knew it was just a matter of time until we saw the even sportier version of the Sportback. Enter, the Audi S5 Sportback. We have all of the details along with a full photo gallery of 14 hi-res images!

The Audi S5 Sportback features the same 333 horsepower, supercharged, 3.0-liter TFSI V6 currently found in the latest 2010 Audi S4 Sedan. Power is sent to the all four wheels via a 7-speed S-Tronic dual clutch transmission and Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive. Optionally, the S5 Sportback can be equipped with a sport rear differential that variably distributes power between each rear wheel.

According to Audi, the S5 Sportback will run a 0-62 MPH (100 km/h) time of 5.4 seconds, which is only .3 seconds slower than the smaller 2010 S4. Of course, as with all Audi's (except the R8), top speed is limited to 155 MPH.

As with most S model Audi's, styling changes are subtle yet noticeable. Sportier body moldings, grille enhancement, side skirts and small rear spoiler all differentiate the S5 Sportback from it's A5 little brother. In addition to the previously noted body modifications, the S5 Sportback also features 18 inch wheels, wearing 245/40 rubber.

Look for the Audi S5 Sportback to make it's official international debut at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show. Afterward, look for the S5 Sportback to hit European showrooms by Spring 2010 with a German price tag of €57,900. Sorry US buyers, as far as we know, the S5 Sportback will not make it to US shores.
