Spy Shots: Audi A5 Sportback Spied in Germany

. Tuesday, April 28, 2009

The elusive Audi A5 Sportback was caught in the wild recently. Not since the Detroit Auto Show have we seen anything regarding the A5 Sportback. Considering the car on display in Detroit was just a concept, this is first glimpse of what the A5 Sportback may look like in production form.

Word is, the A5 Sportback may carry a 2010 model year designation, along with a fairly predictable line of powerplants. Look for engines ranging from a 2.0T 4 cylinder, to a stout supercharged V6. Also, a few diesel variants are expected (most likely not for the US). Rumors are also swirling of an S or RS variant to sport the 4.2 liter V8.

If the rumors are true, this would lead us to believe the Audi A5 Sportback will debut in production form at this fall's Frankfurt Motor Show.
