Audi RS3 Prototype Spied at the Nurburgring

. Tuesday, March 31, 2009

This is truly the first glimpse of what Audi is working on for the RS3. Photochops and renderings aside, this is the real deal. And where else would Audi be testing their latest RS car? The Nurburgring of course.

Apparently caught testing the same day as the RS5, this test mule looks more like a car ready for production rather than a camouflaged mess of aerodynamic experiments. Basically, this mule is an S3 with the RS3's new powerplant. Word is, the RS3 will be equipped with the same 2.5 liter, 5 cylinder turbo found in the Audi TT RS. Power should also be the same as the TT RS, coming in at 340 horsepower and 332 lb/ft of torque.

Considering both the RS3 and TT RS will both be equipped with Quattro all-wheel drive and will most likely weigh close to the same, performance should be very comparable. Look for a 0-100 km/h run around the 4.6 second mark set by the TT RS.

MTM Tuned Audi TTS

.

The Audi TT RS has yet to hit showrooms and there is still debate over whether the car will ever reach North American shores. If you're looking for more horsepower out of an Audi TT, look no further than the 380 horsepower Audi TTS by MTM.

MTM was able to crank the extra ponies out of Audi's 2.0T by upgrading the car's turbo with their signature MTM turbokit, fully revised exhaust system and exhaust manifold. That's enough for 380 horsepower and 364 lb/ft of torque with a top speed of 164 mph.

Not to mention how great the car looks. The upgraded, lowered suspension matched with 20-inch, 8 spoke Bimoto wheels make this car look absolutely sinister. Not to mention full time Quattro all-wheel drive and 380×34mm drilled, 8-piston Brembo-caliper brake system makes for an all-around impressive tuned TT.

If you want one, or just to get more information including prices, check out MTM's website.

2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet Spied in Florida

.

Luckily for us, there have been an unusual amount of Audi spy shots lately. The latest is this 2010 Audi A5 2.0T Cabriolet spied in Florida. Following the car's Geneva debut, final testing is underway here in North America.

Spotted by Audi World forum member, "Love_My_A5" this A5 cab was cruising somewhere between Tampa and Sarasota, Florida. Apparently the photographer was able to yell over to the driver expressing his admiration. The driver responded with, "Car is not out yet and there is an Audi test facility nearby". The driver also confirmed the car was an automatic.

Details regarding the US A5 cabriolet's powerplant are still sketchy. We do know that the Euro-spec A5 range will include a 160-horsepower 1.8 TSI; two 2.0 TFSI's (180 jp and 211 hp); the 265 hp 3.2 FSI V6; a 240 hp 3.0 TDI; and a 190 hp 2.7 TDI. The S5 gets the new, supercharged, 333 horsepower 3.0 V6.

2010/2011 Audi Q7 Spied with Facelift

.

This facelifted, 2010 (or maybe 2011) Audi Q7 has been spied in Atlanta by Fourtitude forum member veedubbed314. To many drivers on this Atlanta highway, it was just another Audi sport-ute. Thankfully, the eagle-eyed Audi fan was able to snap a few pics.

According to the forum post, this is the updated Q7 set to debut this spring and reach dealers this fall. Fourtitude is guessing this Q7 may be sporting an S-line body and noted the LED head and tail lights as well as whether the wheels will be found on US S-line models.

2010 Audi RS5 Spied Again at the Nurburgring

.

This is not the first time that the elusive 2010 Audi RS5 has been spied at the Nurburgring. As the car's official debut looms closer, we're sure there are just a few tweaks to be made to the latest Audi RS beast.

Details are still scarce regarding what will power the RS5. Speculation points to a variant of the RS6's twin-turbo, 5.2-liter V10 powerplant. As the RS6 produces a mind-numbing 580 horsepower, many would guess the RS5 to come in somewhere just about the 500 hp mark. But, you never know, we may be pleasantly surprised with more.
